തൃശ്ശൂർ: ജില്ലയിലെ അതിരപ്പിള്ളിക്ക് സമീപം ശനിയാഴ്ച പുലർച്ചെയുണ്ടായ കാട്ടാന ആക്രമണത്തിൽ 62 കാരൻ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു. വീടിന് സമീപത്തുവെച്ചായിരുന്നു ആക്രമണമെന്ന് മുതിർന്ന വനംവകുപ്പ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥൻ അറിയിച്ചു.
ശനിയാഴ്ച പുലർച്ചെ 2.45 ഓടെയാണ് സംഭവം. ജനവാസ മേഖലയ്ക്ക് സമീപം എത്തിയ കാട്ടാനയെ ഓടിക്കാൻ ഇരയായ മോഹനനും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ രണ്ട് ബന്ധുക്കളും ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതിനിടയിലാണ് അപകടമുണ്ടായതെന്ന് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥർ പറഞ്ഞു.
മൂവരും ചേർന്ന് ആനയെ ഓടിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചപ്പോൾ ആന ഇവർക്ക് നേരെ തിരിയുകയും ആക്രമിക്കുകയുമായിരുന്നു. ആക്രമണത്തിൽ ഗുരുതരമായി പരിക്കേറ്റ മോഹനനെ ഉടൻ തന്നെ അടുത്തുള്ള ആശുപത്രിയിൽ എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല.
