കോഴിക്കോട്: സംഗീത സംവിധായകനും തബലിസ്റ്റുമായ കോഴിക്കോട് അബൂബക്കര് അന്തരിച്ചു. 80 വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. അരീക്കാട്ടെ വീട്ടില് ഇന്ന് പുലര്ച്ചെയാണ് അന്ത്യം സംഭവിച്ചത്. വാര്ധക്യ സഹജമായ അസുഖങ്ങളെ തുടര്ന്ന് വിശ്രമത്തിലായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം. സംസ്കാരം വൈകിട്ട് മാത്തോട്ടം ഖബര്സ്ഥാന് പള്ളിയില് നടക്കും.
വിഖ്യാത സംഗീത സംവിധായകരായ ദേവരാജന് മാസ്റ്ററുടേയും ബോംബെ രവിയുടേയുമെല്ലാം പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട തബലിസ്റ്റായിരുന്നു അബൂബക്കര്. സ്ട്രോക്ക് വന്ന് കിടപ്പിലാകുന്നതിന് ദിവസങ്ങള്ക്ക് മുമ്പ് പോലും ഒരു പുതിയ പാട്ടിന് അദ്ദേഹം ഈണം നല്കിയിരുന്നു.
കെ. വി. സുബൈദയാണ് ഭാര്യ. ഗുലാം അലി, ഫയാസ്, റോഷ്നി, ഫെമിന, സജിന എന്നിവര് മക്കളാണ്.
Music Director Kozhikode Aboobacker Passes Away
KOZHIKODE: Renowned music director and tabla player Kozhikode Aboobacker passed away at the age of 80. He breathed his last early this morning at his residence in Areekad. He had been taking rest due to age-related ailments. The funeral ceremony will take place in the evening at the Mathottam Juma Masjid Khabarsthan.
Aboobacker was a favorite tabla player of legendary music directors like Devarajan Master and Bombay Ravi. Remarkably, he composed a new song just days before he was bedridden following a stroke.
He is survived by his wife, K. V. Subaida, and children Ghulam Ali, Fayaz, Roshni, Femina, and Sajina.
