കൊല്ലം: നേപ്പാളിലെ മിന്നൽ പ്രളയത്തിൽ കാണാതായവരിൽ കൊല്ലം സ്വദേശിനിയും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നതായി റിപ്പോർട്ട്. പരവൂർ കോങ്ങൽ സ്വദേശി സുനന്ദ മണിരാജനെയാണ് കാണാതായത്. സുനന്ദയും കുടുംബവും ലണ്ടനിൽ സ്ഥിരതാമസക്കാരാണ്. കൈലാസ മാനസസരോവർ തീർഥയാത്രയ്ക്ക് പോയതായിരുന്നു സുനന്ദ മണിരാജൻ.
കഴിഞ്ഞ മാസം 25-നാണ് സുനന്ദ അവസാനമായി വീട്ടിലേക്ക് വിളിച്ചത്. ടിബറ്റ്-നേപ്പാൾ അതിർത്തിക്ക് സമീപമുള്ള റാസുവഗാധിയിലെത്തിയ സുനന്ദയെ പിന്നീട് ബന്ധപ്പെടാൻ സാധിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് ബന്ധുക്കൾ പറയുന്നു. സംശയം തോന്നി ട്രാവൽ ഏജന്റിനെ വിളിച്ചപ്പോഴാണ് പ്രളയത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിവരം അറിയുന്നത്. തുടർന്ന് ബന്ധുക്കൾ മിസ്സിംഗ് പരാതി നൽകുകയായിരുന്നു. നോർക്ക, വിദേശകാര്യമന്ത്രാലയം, കാഠ്മണ്ഡുവിലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ എംബസി എന്നിവരെ വിവരം അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. സുനന്ദയുടെ രണ്ട് മക്കളും യുകെയിലാണ്. ഇവർ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് എംബസി വഴിയും അന്വേഷണം നടത്തിവരികയാണെങ്കിലും ഇതുവരെ വിവരങ്ങളൊന്നും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. സുനന്ദ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന സംഘത്തിലെ 17 തീർഥാടകരെയും ഒപ്പമുണ്ടായിരുന്ന 5 ഗൈഡുകളെക്കുറിച്ചും നിലവിൽ വിവരമില്ലെന്ന് ബന്ധുക്കൾ വ്യക്തമാക്കി.
ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 22-നാണ് സുനന്ദ ലണ്ടനിൽ നിന്നും ഡൽഹിയിലെത്തുന്നത്. അവിടെ നിന്നും വിമാനമാർഗം കാഠ്മണ്ഡുവിലേക്ക് പോകുകയായിരുന്നു. യുകെ പൗരത്വമുള്ള സുനന്ദ അവിടെ ഒരു എയർപോർട്ടിൽ സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ഓഫീസറായി ജോലി ചെയ്തു വരികയായിരുന്നു. സുനന്ദയെ കാണാതായ സംഭവത്തിൽ വിശദമായ അന്വേഷണം വേണമെന്ന് കുടുംബം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നു. കാഠ്മണ്ഡുവിന് പുറമേ, ചൈനീസ് എംബസികളുമായും ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് വരികയാണ്.
Woman Native to Kollam Missing in Nepal Flash Floods; Family Seeks Investigation
KOLLAM: A woman hailing from Kollam is reported to be among those missing in the devastating flash floods in Nepal. The missing person has been identified as Sunanda Manirajan, a native of Kongal, Paravur. Sunanda and her family have been permanently settled in London. She had traveled to Nepal for the Kailash Manasarovar pilgrimage.
According to her relatives, Sunanda last made phone contact on the 25th of last month. After reaching Rasuwagadhi near the Tibet-Nepal border, all communication with her was lost. The family learned about the situation only after reaching out to her travel agent, following which they filed an official missing person complaint. The matter has been reported to NORKA, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. Sunanda’s two children, who reside in the UK, are also trying to track details through the British Embassy, but no information has been received so far. Relatives stated that all 17 members of the pilgrimage group along with their 5 guides remain untraceable.
Sunanda had arrived in Delhi from London on August 22 and subsequently flew to Kathmandu. A British citizen, she had been working as a security officer at an airport in the UK. The family has demanded a comprehensive investigation into her disappearance and is actively liaising with both the embassy in Kathmandu and the Chinese embassies.
